Antek HealthWare Participates in California HealthCare Foundation ELINCS Project

Baltimore, MD - April 2, 2007 - Antek HealthWare, LLC, announced that it has completed updating all DAQbilling® Practice Management Software (PMS) clients to support the National Provider Identifier (NPI) at no additional charge. Now that DAQbilling PMS supports the NPI number, its important for practices to order the new HCFA 1500 forms from your HCFA supplier.

NPI is a 10-digit number that has been designed to improve and streamline the effectiveness of the electronic transmission of health information. The NPI will replace current provider identifiers in all claim transactions. For more information on how to apply for a NPI number, visit: https://nppes.cms.hhs.gov/NPPES/Welcome.do.

One advantage of the NPI is, once it is assigned, it doesn't change, regardless of the changes to the provider's specialty or practice location. Healthcare providers must obtain a NPI number before May 23, 2007. This new initiative is required in accordance with HIPAA's Administrative Simplification provision.
